Save Money On Energy
The US Department of energy says that more than 50% of the energy typically used in American Homes is for cooling and heating. If your home is not properly insulated, especially the attic, you are losing a lot of that conditioned air. You save money if your attic, walls and your air ducts are properly sealed. Older exterior doors and windows also play a big part in energy loss. Newer double pane glass windows are superior in restricting energy loss, just as newer exterior doors, which fit better than older doors, reduce energy loss. If you have old exterior doors, adding weather stripping and adding a storm door will improve reduce energy loss. New Appliances usually use less energy than older appliances and Energy Star Appliances use even less. As an example, A new Energy Star Clothes Washer saves electricity and water. If your Hot Water Heater and Hot Water Pipes are not insulated, you are wasting energy
and Money. When you are ready to change your Hot Water Heater, Choose an Energy Star Heater. Solar (PV) Electricity is gaining in popularity because it uses a reliable and renewable source of energy, the sun. If your home gets good unobstructed access to the sun’s rays for most or all of the day and most of the year, your home will benefit from a well-designed PV System. Here in the U. S., the sun is always in the southern half of the sky and it is higher in the summer and lower in the winter. As a rule, a PV system should be mounted on a South-Facing Rooftop, However, East or West-Facing roofs may also be acceptable. Proper Landscaping can reduce your energy costs.
Trees can help shade and reduce cooling expenses and work as windbreaks to
reduce heating costs. Some landscaping requires less water, condiser using
alterative options.
